35 years ago, game designer Hironobu Sakaguchi released what he had assumed would be his last game — his literal “final fantasy.” Starting next month, fashion brand UNIQLO will be teaming up with SQUARE ENIX to release a line of 16 shirts, celebrating the many games in what would become the enduring Final Fantasy series.
The line will feature one shirt inspired by each of the main-numbered games in the series. The designs feature retro pixel art for early-series games, as well as fan-favorite characters, scenes, and moments:

You can get a closer look at all 16 designs right now on UNIQLO’s Final Fantasy 35th Anniversary store page. Shirts go on sale online and in UNIQLO stores across the U.S. on May 16. Plus, a deck of limited-edition Final Fantasy playing cards will be available as a purchase bonus.
Shirts will be available in adult sizes and priced at $19.90 each. Availability of specific designs may differ between brick-and-mortar stores, but you’ll be able to shop the whole collection online if your local UNIQLO is missing the shirt you want.
