Ahead of Shin Ikki Tousen‘s premiere on May 17, the warring states-but-in-modern-Japan TV anime uncovered four more character designs and the character’s voice actors for the continuation of the titillating Ikki Tousen anime adaptation – giving fans a small peek at who they’ll soon meet.
Sanae Kobayashi (Allen Walker in D.Gray-man) as Shikei Roshuku
Sayuri Yahagi (Kaya Miyoshi in Bakuman) as Ganryu Sasaki
Mariya Ise (Midari Ikishima in Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler) as Tamonmaru Kusunoki
Manami Numakura (Kohaku in Dr. STONE) as Indara
Directing Shin Ikki Tousen anime is Rion Kujo (Samurai Harem) with Taiji Kawanishi (Queen’s Blade) as the assistant director, Masaya Honda retuning to write the scripts and series compositions from Ikki Tousen: Western Wolves, Rin-Sin returning from the Ikki Tousen series and Tsutomu Miyazawa (Samurai Girls) designing the characters. Miyazawa is also the chief animation director of the anime alongside Seo Gu Lee as the art director, Shigeteru Asakawa as the director of photography, and Yasuharu Takanashi composing the music, all returning from previous Ikki Tousen anime. The animation is being produced at Arms.

Shin Ikki Tousen continues on from the previous work with Hakufu Sonsaku’s younger sister as the battles come up from Kansai to Kanto. The first episode premieres on AT-X on May 17, with the second episode set for May 24, and the third episode on May 31. Crunchyroll will be streaming the episodes after they air in Japan.
