It’s been an exciting month for anime and manga fans on social media, thanks to Hunter x Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi breaking a years-long silence to open a Twitter account and share his latest work. Now, another longtime icon of the industry has similarly followed suit.
Rie Kugimiya, best known for her roles as Alphonse in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Taiga in Toradora!, Happy in Fairy Tail and Kagura in Gintama, today opened a Twitter account for her birthday.

She followed up by saying she was receiving Twitter tips from Asami Imai (Kurisu in Steins;Gate) and Manami Numakura (Pieck in Attack on Titan), and that she’s still getting used to using the platform.

Kugimiya’s account has already accrued over 115,000 followers at the time of writing, approximately two and a half hours after her initial Tweet. Her bio currently just says, “Voice Actress.”
